When taking a deposit make sure that you use one of the three approved schemes for tenancy deposit protection. 

We would like to make you aware that there is a website www.mytenancydeposit.co.uk which is not one of the schemes approved by the Government for tenancy deposit protection.

As you will be aware the government brought in a law in April 2007, that any deposit received for an assured shorthold tenancy agreement, must be placed in a government backed scheme.

The three approved schemes are:
